How do I get started?
The first step is a free 15 minute consultation. You can email, call or text to request this. I want to make the first step easy and understand that phone calls can feel scary. We will discuss your primary concerns and assess whether I am a good match.
How much do you charge?
Individual sessions sessions are typically 50 minutes
Couple sessions are typically 60 minutes
A Superbill can be provided at your request
If you would like to use your insurance I can provide you with a superbill (invoice) to submit directly to insurance for reimbursement. Please note that any time you utilize insurance a medical diagnosis must be provided which becomes part of your permanent record.
Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:
Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
Is approval required from my primary care physician?
How long will therapy last? What will it be like?
Typically we will meet weekly for 50 minutes, however I believe therapy should meet your needs. This may mean weekly sessions or based on a collaborative approach we may agree to a higher frequency or fewer sessions. I believe in working together towards agreed upon goals and take a pragmatic individualized approach to creating a therapeutic plan. Periodically we will review agreed upon goals together to assess the continued need for therapy.
Information about Good Faith Estimate
The following is required to be included by law so it's sort of jargon-y. It basically says I can't charge you some random extra fee without your consent. I would never do that anyway.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
